1987   Awarded a Scottish Arts Council Writer’s Bursary.

1988   First poetry collection published: The Loutra Hotel (Making            Waves Press).

1988   Read poems on Scottish Television’s In Verse series.

1988   First Prize in Swanage Literary Festival Competition.

1989   First Prize in Swanage Literary Festival Competition.

1989–1991 SAC Writer in Residence for Stirling District.

1990   The Happy Land (prose) broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland.

1991   The Happy Land (Ramsay Head Press) published.

1991   More episodes of The Happy Land on BBC Radio Scotland.

1991   Poem included in an exhibition of poetry and etchings (Six            Twentieth Century Poets) at the Poetry Library, London.
